This is Poly-fil Pete he was created for Fairfield Processing Corporation the makers of Poly-fil fiberfill. In addition to being cute, he is a great way to use up leftover yarn.

SHAPE HEEL
To shape the heal, turn leg between rows.
Row 1: Sc in next st, hdc in next st, dc in each of next 5 dc, hdc in next sc, sc in next st, sl st in next st.
Row 2: Turn, sc in sc, hdc in hdc, dc in each dc, hdc in hdc, sc in sc, sl st in next st, turn.
Change to Blue
Rows 3-4: Repeat row 2–two more times.

Change to Yellow
Instead of changing yarn color in the standard way by pulling the yellow yarn through the last loop of the last  stitch done in blue, sl st with the yellow yarn into a yellow st that was done prior to doing the heel shaping.

Rnd 14: (Crocheting into the stitches that were done to create the heel shape) Sc in sc from the previous round and sl st at the end of each row in preparation for continuing to work the stripe pattern. (20 sc)

Note: The ears do not get filled which impacts the appearance and size. Pulling the ears lengthwise is how to make the adjustment and have consistency with the rest of the design.

Finishing

Using photo for reference, attach parts by sewing
1. Head to body

2. An arm on each side of body—align the yellow row of the arms with the middle of the yellow row
of the body
3. Legs to sides of body—align top of leg seam with the bottom of the red stripe
4. Sew ears to head
Create and apply face details

1. Cut triangle from red felt and glue to face.

2. Cut two circles from black felt for the eyes and glue to face.
