Free Crochet Leaf Bowl Pattern
This crochet leaf bowl is a charming way to bring the beauty of the season into your home. Please feel free to adapt this design to suit you. The colors I chose were based on my yarn stash. If I were going to purchase yarn for this project, then I probably would have chosen variegated yarn in fall colors.

Crochet the Leaves for the Crochet Leaf Bowl
I have been told that readers like to have lots of detail. So, I created a chart showing the detail regarding leaf creation. However, I think that if I made this again, then the chart might look different due to leaf placement. I took an organic approach to leaf placement. I started with the whole leaves. Next I decided to place leaves where the leaves met. Then I looked to see what spaces need to be filled in and which color looked right in the spot.

Assemble Bowl
Notes:
- You may wish to reread the introduction to the leaf section. It includes my approach to leaf placement.
- To ensure optimal placement of your leaves, place your work on the bowl form from time to time so you can evaluate.
- Sewing leaves—to keep stitches from showing 1) use the same color yarn as the leaf being sewn 2) place the stitch between the two leaves.
- Fold the base detail under and sew closed. (The side that gets sewn to will the side that gets placed on your work surface.) Weave in yarn ends and trim.
- Attach six whole leaves to the base. Place the bottom of the bowl down on your work surface. Line up the bottom of a leaf with the 7th round of the bowl base. (Most of the leaf should be resting beyond the base of the bowl.) Sew into place. Attach the remaining five leaves so that they are evenly space.
- Continue attaching leaves. To compensate for not having variegated yarn, I wove the edges of the leaves together. Sew overlapping edges together. Weave in yarn ends and trim.
- Protect your bowl form with a plastic bag. Place your project on top of the bowl. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions for Stiffen Stuff.
