Damask Wedding Favor — #1

The Damask wedding favor is the simplest of the bunch. Its interest comes from the flocked decorative paper. This would be a good option for someone new to DIY.

Damask Wedding Favor–Instructions

Note: If you are printing directly onto the cardstock, then do so prior to punching or die cutting the smaller circle.

1) Lightly draw lines 2.25” apart on a 12” piece of paper.

Fig. 1

2) Cut one strip creating a 2.25” X 12” strip.

3) Make four score lines on the strip. You might think that all the score lines should be 2.25” apart. However, you’ll need to account for the space that the edges take up. The first one will be at 2.25”. After you make the first score line, place the box on top and (on the wrong side). Use your pencil to lightly mark where the next score line should be.

You should notice that the second score line is a fraction more than 4.5” from the starting edge. (Please see figure three. ) Continue scoring and marking until you have a total of four score lines.  Trim the excess paper from the fifth side.

Time saving note: Keep the first score lined strip as a template. Then (on the wrong side) lightly mark the score lines with pencil and then with the scoring blade, before you cut the remaining strips.

4) Punch or die cut the circles from the coordinating paper you selected. Please see note at top of instructions.

5) Fill favor box.

6) The overlapping sides will be at the bottom. Add double sided adhesive to the fourth side. Position the favor box accordingly. Place the fifth side over the fourth side and press.

7) Cut ribbon long enough to wrap around box and to tie a box. Wrap ribbon around box and tie into bow.

8) Use double sided tape to affix circles to front of box. If you decided to print on clear labels, then create the smaller circle and affix it on top and then add clear circle label.
