Two-Hole Es-O Mini Beaded Bead
Learn how to make the two-hole Es-O Mini beaded bead. The two-hole Es-O Mini is a new addition to the two-hole bead family. This tutorial shows you how to make a beaded bead using the two-needle right angle weave stitch.
Before You Begin
Thread
- You will use one yard of thread.
- Add one needle to each end.
Beads
- Center the first group of beads picked up.
Stitch
- Each stitch (group) is made up of five pairs of beads—one Es-O Mini and one Seed Bead.
- The last step of each group (the step-up through the top hole) returns the right-hand needle to the right and the left-hand needle to the left. (This applies from group two on.)
Two-Hole Es-o Mini Beaded Bead Materials
- Two-Hole Es-O Mini Beads (E)
- 11/0 Seed Beads (S)
- Beading thread–for best results use thread with .008 thickness
- Big Eye Needle
- Scissors
How to make a Two-Hole Es-o Mini Beaded Bead
Create your first group of five beads. Pick up five pairs of beads. Passing through all the beads you picked up making sure to pass through the same holes. (Fig. A)
Step up by passing the needles through the top hole of the same E bead. This will create a right-hand and left-hand needle. (Fig. B)
Create your second group of five beads. Use your right-hand needle to pick up SE,SE, SE, SE and, S. Then pass your left-hand needle through the last SE beads you picked up. (Fig. C)
Reinforce the group by passing the right-hand needle through all the beads again— except the last seed bead picked up. Step up by passing both needles through the top hole of the last E picked up. (Fig. D)
Create your third group of five. Take your left-hand needle, pick up S, and then pass through the top hole of the next bead. (Fig. E)
Using your right needle pick up SE, SE, SE, S. (Fig. F)
Pass your left needle through the last SE. Reinforce group by passing the right-hand needle through all the beads again—except the last seed bead picked up. Step up with both needle through the top hole of the last E.
Create your fourth and fifth groups. You’ll create these groups by following the directions for the third group.
Group Six is a bit different from the prior three
Create the sixth group of five. First difference is you pick up one S and pass through the next E—twice. (Fig. G)
The second difference is the number of beads picked up wit the right-hand needle. Pick up SE, SE, and S . (Fig. H)
Reinforce group using right-hand needle. Step up through through the last Es-o bead picked up.
You’re Half-Way Done
Create your seventh group of five. You’ll create this group by following the directions for the third group.
Create your eighth, ninth, and tenth group of five. Follow the directions for creating the sixth group.
Group Eleven—things change up again
Create your eleventh group of five. Use your left-hand needle. Pick up one S and pass through the next E—three times. (Fig. I)
Use your right-hand needle. Pick up SES. (Fig. J)
Group Twelve—Just add the seed beads
Create your twelfth group of five. You already have the five Es-o Mini you need. You just have to add the five seed beads. Use your left-hand needle. Pick up S and pass through the next bead. (Fig. K)
Repeat five times. Reinforce the last group by passing through all the beads. Tie the two ends into a knot. Weave in thread ends and trim.
