Crochet Frankenstein is it a Goody Bag or Party Decor?
Goody bags can do double duty as party decor. This crochet Frankenstein bag that has a protruding forehead and drooping eyelids is a good example.
Halloween was one my favorite holidays as a kid. It is because of the costumes, the monster movies, the parties, and of course the candy. This crochet Frankenstein projects combines many of the elements that made this holiday a fond childhood memory. You can choose to use Frankie as a goody bag or as holiday decoration. Either way he was designed to last like the happy childhood memories he sure to be a part of.
I start the design process with material selection. You’re more likely to be happy with the end result if you made the right choices at the start. I chose a yarn that was easy to care for and that would maintain its look. Lion Brand’s 24/7 Cotton yarn is a worsted-weight, mercerized, and 100% natural fiber yarn. The mercerization process gives the yarn incredible color and sheen which will last through multiple wash cycles. The three dimension effect of his forehead and eyes comes from stuffing with Poly-fil fiberfill.
The pattern for this project can be found in the Fall 2016 issue of Craft Ideas.
